Freyr Woodworking

Freyr is a hobby shop that provides, the amateur woodworker, access to a fully outfitted workshop and the opportunity to receive instruction from industry professionals on self-directed projects. The name Freyr is derived from the Norse god of wealth and abundance and the icon is inspired by his boar, Gullinborsti. The icon is made up of three parts: the image is the boar, the razor back hair is symbolic of the teeth of a saw blade and the striations that run through the icon represents the grain in the wood. The letters of the word mark are consolidated to facilitate in the making of an old-fashioned hand carved sign that one would have hung outside above the door of the shop.
